Skills are divided into four groups – basic, combat, occupation, and crafting Skills. All Skills might use different Stats at different times. The Stats listed in the tables are suggestions. Occupations and Crafts especially use a great variety of Stats depending on the situation. For example, knowledge about farming would include Farming & Memory dice, but determining the viability of a particular plant might be Farming & Insight, and laying out a good field might be Farming & Creativity.
Cooperation in Skill Checks
It is often possible to get assistance with Skill checks. When the GM allows it, someone attempting to help you can roll their Stat & Skill and add their Successes to yours, for a maximum of two additional Successes. There is a risk, however; if they roll no Successes and any of their dice shows a 1, subtract 1 from your total Successes. You can get assistance from multiple people, but you can get no more than three extra Successes from assists, and adding more people increases the risk of someone rolling a 1 and no Successes. All rolls made to assist must be made at the same time as the roll they are assisting; you cannot attempt to assist someone after the fact.
